I recently ran across a file which contained some bookmarks from 1997 ‘n 98. (I’m a bit of a pack rat) These selected links are  apparently what I found interesting at the ripe old age of 17 and 18(some linked to archive.org locations due to age) :

There are actually some informative links in that archive as well. Including a bookmark to the Libary of Congress, and link to download real player. Even a few bookmarks to internic and the EFF. Frankly, I’m surprised that the glow in dark page is still up. That has to be the most useless page on the net. I another interesting bookmark is this Why Linux page, even though it wasn’t till 2002 or so when I truly converted to the operating system (I switched to FreeBSD first. I then was curious to find out what all the Penguin fuss was about ).

While I’m at it, one of my old old old sites is still up for the time being: http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Sands/3550/ . Wonderful website design. Just throw as  many free web applets up as possible and see which one sticks. The logo was made in Microsoft Image Composer.

A few days ago I finally got around to messing with and converting the old ANM xoops database to SMF.  Users can now see the posta made from 2003 – March 2009. Enter the archive at airsoftnewmexico.com/ark .

The VSC-N530A GPS by Visco is a clone of the Holux GPSmile 52+. Or at the very least, a damn fine copy.
Note the the called Holuxshell in the residentflash directories:

Visco offers map files to registered GPS owners on their website.  Its going to take me 72 hours of straight downloading on dialup just to recieve them.  If anyone out there has access to the files could they find out if the maps include Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico?

Bought my first GPS this past weekend. Albertsons was selling some for $99 a piece. I could not pass that up. It is very basic, but that is fine by me. While it will play mp3′s, the unit has no headphone out put.

A few interesting tidbits about the VSC-N530A. It is running Windows CE 4.2, which means that once unlocked, other software can run on it. A link on the Fatwallet forums to GpsPasSion confirmed as much for me. After following the instructions at GpSPasSion, I was able to run the WinCE desktop. My next step is to try other software on the GPS unit.

One other thing. The file structure on the unit shows a file called holuxshell. This leads me to believe that the unit in the GpSPasSion thread that is made by a company called Holux, is probably very close, perhaps rebadged, to my own unit “made” by Visco.
